The Sidewalk Box is designed to be set flush in a concrete sidewalk and provide easy access to fill and/or sounding line terminals, valves, mneters and similar equipment which is installed below grade. The Preferred Sidewalk Boxes are designed to be set flush in a concrete sidewalk and provide easy access to fill and/or sounding line terminals, valves, meters and similar equipment which is installed below grade. The assembly consists of a cast iron body with a hinged cover equipped with a latch. The skirt is 2" deep.
Storage tank fill and sounding lines, valves and meters shall be protected by a one-piece, cast iron Sidewalk Box with 2" skirt and hinged cover equipped with a latch. The box shall allow access below grade without being attached to the devices, thereby eliminating any possibility that the weight might be transferred. The box shall be installed in a 2" thick concrete pad and be a Preferred Utilities Mfg. Corp., Danbury, CT, Sidewalk Box.
